Since opening the space has gradually gathered a devoted audience, drawn to its refined selection of raw oud and resins, Japanese incense, natural perfumes, handcrafted ceramics, and soulful objects that celebrate natural materials and craftsmanship. Alongside this curated atmosphere, the space serves as a studio for sensory exploration, with a particular focus on the most intimate and often underdeveloped sense: the sense of smell. As a perfumer and aromatherapist, Ryoko and Daniel create scent-scapes and engage in olfactory collaborations with various artists, of different fields, bringing an additional dimension to the space.

The Story of Ryoko

The Story of Ryoko

Ryoko grew up in Osaka before moving to Paris, Sydney, and later India, where she expanded her understanding of Japanese-rooted healing systems through Ayurveda, remedial massage therapy, and aromatherapy. Her path eventually crossed with Daniel’s in Berlin.

Daniel, born in Frankfurt, spent decades in the film industry, collaborating with people worldwide. Drawn to the arts, storytelling, rituals, and nature from an early age, his transition from cinematographer, director, and photographer to partnering with Ryoko felt natural.

Together, they share a common aesthetic and passions, along with a commitment to continuous learning. Curious and inspired, they have built a diverse, like-minded community over the past 12 years.
