The story of On Studio

The story of On Studio

On Studio is the creative refuge of photographer and ceramicist Hyemi Cho. Originally from Korea, Hyemi found her artistic grounding in Gerswalde, where a practical dilemma about throwing clay at home and desperately needing a kiln blossomed into a dedicated, full-time practice.

She transformed a local, multi-use space into an inspiring working studio, complete with throwing wheels tucked into the corners, testing squares for glazes, and shelves lined with pieces awaiting the fire. Today, Hyemi not only crafts her signature blend of speckled, elegantly understated ceramics, but she also opens her doors to others. Through private classes and tailored group workshops, she invites visitors to step inside, share a conversation over coffee, and experience the tactile warmth of the clay for themselves.
